Dr Stephen T Elms
MB ChB (1975)


Dr Stephen Elms is the longest-serving member of the medical team. He graduated from Glasgow University in 1975 and joined the Health Centre in 1979. He takes a special interest in appraisal work and is, in fact, a GP appraiser for Forth Valley Primary Care Trust.

He is married and has three children and four grandchildren.

 

Dr Stuart A Cumming
MB ChB (1983) MRCGP DRCOG


Dr Stuart Cumming graduated from Glasgow University in 1983 and joined the Health Centre in 1987. He also works with the primary Care Operating Division to improve the quality of health care for the population of Forth Valley. He is married and has 3 daughters.

 

Dr Caryn M Simms
MB ChB (1994) DRCOG DFFP MRCGP


Dr Caryn Simms graduated from Glasgow University in 1994. She joined Killearn Health Centre in 1999 and is the GP trainer. She is married and has 2 children.

 

Dr Matthias Schmautz

The most recent addition to the team, Dr Schmautz joined as a part time partner in March 2004. After graduating from Humboldt-University in Berlin and travelling the world he decided to make Scotland his home. He was one of our previous registrars (see training). Dr Schmautz takes an interest in Accident and Emergency Medicine and does a weekly session at the A/E department at Stirling Royal Infirmary.

He is married, with two daughters. He likes old Land Rovers.

 

Dr Christopher D Martin (MBChB)

We are pleased to welcome Dr Martin. He will be our new registrar for 1 year. (see training) He qualified from Glasgow University in 2002 and has worked extensively in Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Care of the Elderly as well as Oncology. Chris has also spent some time in Australia. He is about to get married.
